A Girl Gone Nomad

I handed over the keys to my apartment and unlocked the world

It’s been 6 months since I started packing up. A few days later, I handed over the keys to the new tenant of my place, got myself on the plane and flew to New York to start an epic journey.

I, quite literally, threw myself into it: no research, no travel guides, no nomadic communities. To be frank, I couldn’t tell what I had just turned myself into: a Digital Nomad!

It was a learning process from the very first day. I thought: Why do I need to be home all day if I’m working fully remotely? How can I make my days more exciting? Can I travel while I’m working? But these were not the only questions. I found myself overthinking this idea for months! I thought I needed to move countries again, get visas, being an “international” all over again!

It was on a Wednesday — I woke up, looked up in the mirror and made the decision: “Stop this nonsense. Let’s do it!”. 8 cities on: I couldn’t be happier! Having an adventure every day, having to plan daily, seeing amazing places and finding new cultures…

It was only a month ago that I had heard of “Digital Nomad”. It was good to finally give this journey a name! “I just wish there was someone to share it with”, I’d dream after a long day of adventure, “maybe there is someone… maybe I’m not the only Female Solo Digital Nomad who does not want to spend 3 months in Bali, but instead dreams of exploring the world and its people”.

I hope you are one of those. But even if you’re not, I hope you stick around to follow my adventures, get inspired and hopefully can take on some of my recommendations around this beautiful planet!
